Yeah Clifford rules. “And then they told me stories — DEEP BREATH — about what they DOOO on their bikes! *DEEP BREATH* Some of them were fun, but some of them were scary!”
This is a good one. Mainly because I'm pretty sure I saw this in the theater when it came out, but I'm also not 100% sure it wasn't a similar movie
Oh man, I feel like there is a whole series of films from around the time that all could have been good or big but just weren’t and I watched and kind of loved them all and remember watching the rentals from Blockbuster all the time.
Lmao at the faces he makes when the uncle(?) tells him to look at him like a real boy. I just had to ask my fiance if she heard of that movie and she immediately perked up and said OH MY GOD YES IT'S SO FUNNY. Guess I have a new movie to watch
Just watched Clifford for the first time thanks to this thread, lost it at the bomb voicemail recording.
When I saw the monster trucks trailer I thought it was a joke and slowly realized it was for an actual movie.
The story behind it is great. It was inspired by one of the studio heads or big producers like 5 year old son or something and the company already predicted and anticipated the loss before release haha
Why'd they dump so much money into it if they were anticipating a flop? edit: here we go... How the Hell Did This 'Monster Trucks' Movie Get Made?
I work at a MUCH smaller studio than Paramount, but we have released more than a few movies that we know will tank, just because they are pet projects of the company owners. So I at least get it.
Lmao never heard of Monster Trucks but it sounds like a solid movie to be featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000
My brother and I watched this movie a ton when we were kids haha. Along with episodes of the original show.
Back in the mid 90s before Comedy Central hit it big with South Park, their limited budget would yield airings of low budget b-movie comedies like Clifford. It was on a bunch of times back then and even watching it now still holds up as a bizarre black comedy.
Saw (and enjoyed) both of these in theaters. But definitely never thought about them again. Until now.
