I wanted to talk about this one more because it was a weird point for Halestorm. They made movies for Mormons, comedies mostly. I'm happy to be out of that cult, but I still have fond memories of some of these goofy films. My favorite one was called Mobsters and Mormons. An east coast mafia guy get out in witness protection...in Utah! Comedy ensues! Idk if any of them hold up. I don't want to find out. Church Ball was towards the end for them, but they were trying to appeal to less of a niche audience and break out a little. Hence the "big" names involved and toning down how specifically Mormon they were.
Saw this post and had to verify what thread I was in and then I went into Incognito Mode to see the post you quoted and now I realize you are not talking about Halestorm, the band. That would've been weird.
I actually saw the DVD for it at a half price books the other day and that’s why I posted it because it made me laugh. I pulled it out because I noticed Fred Willard on the spine
Some moments of them actually hold up decently well. Like there's some good writing and acting hidden in a lot of those movies. As a whole, no they don't though haha.
People have reclaimed the Matrix sequels and Speed Racer and there are Cloud Atlas defenders so sooner or later there will probably be Jupiter Ascending apologists.
Is that woman supposed to look like Johansson? I had a friend unironically tell me they were so excited for Busboys. I should check in on their opinion on it.
