Jaime Lannister actor and Josh Holloway from “Lost” are both conventionally attractive actors that weirdly didn’t go on to bigger things.

Really thought he'd get a lot more roles after that. That dumb Gods of Egypt one was probably a bad pick lol.

He did do that Leslie Mann/Cameron Diaz movie that actually made me laugh a bit from what I remember

 

What show had the most breakout actors? Saturday Night Live does not count. Cheers?

 

To be fair, one look at his Wiki page shows he's had roles, just nothing huge.

Could you make a case for All in the Family? I guess it depends on what you count as a break out, but obviously Rob Reiner, Sally Struthers, Bea Arthur, and Sherman Helmsley/The Jeffersons all happen/have long careers because of that show

 

Oh, and forgotten in the GOT discussion--Pedro Pascal obviously became a huge star because of his turn on there.

Emilia Clarke has continued to work pretty regularly in TV and film but hasn't reached the height of her 'khaleesi' popularity

 

Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared

 

Yeah, really tough to compete with Freaks and Geeks, probably neck and neck with Cheers. But Euphoria and Yellowjackets have been new movie and TV star factories.

 

Aren't Jason Momoa and Peter Dinklage examples too or was that already covered?

 

Not that he was some big star, but Dinklage had already been in a few things.

 

Didn't know that. Didn't know him until GOT. What was he in before that?

I remembered him from The Station Agent.

 

Never seen either.

I guess per Wiki the latter was his breakout role. It wouldn't have been a film in my periphery, but that's my problem. Fair enough.

 

I think The Station Agent was the first time I saw Bobby Cannavale as well.

 

The Station Agent is good.

 

Dinklage defintely became a huge star because of GOT, but he also def had a career before it. I didn't know much about him when I started watching the show but I def remember seeing it and going "oh that guy's in this" haha. Def knew him from Elf and had at least must have seen ads or trailers for his other stuff.

 

He was in an episode of 30 Rock before GOT

 

He was also in a forgotten Vin Diesel movie called “Find Me Guilty.” He was quite good in it.

Saw the first and it was solid.

 

I’m pretty sure I saw the first vacation friends but it could have just been a fever dream.
