You’re not wrong. Except somehow this character is even less likable and has less redemption over the course of the film, which seems impossible.
For some reason in high school I went through a weird “I find Michael Cera relatable” phase so I remember Youth in Revolt fairly well
I always thought that was pretty well received, but maybe I just remember one friend of mine being super into it and that made it have more impact in my life.
Remember that I was ahead of this curve once everyone throughout the internet starts talking about movies that didn’t happen
This is a movie I know about solely because of some controversy around it, like Emma Stone’s character is supposed to actually be native Hawaiian or something. Could not tell you a single aspect of the story
We should start making predictions on which current movies (or yet to be released movies) will someday cease to have happened, so years from now we can come back here and see which of us were right (me) or wrong (the rest of you) Also it will be interesting to see how history will treat the Marvel movies. Since they are so interwoven, it seems strange to think something like Infinity War will be remembered but Dr. Strange won’t, but all other signs would naturally point to that happening. The only historical parallel would be sequels, and obviously there are cases of a sequel being more popular than the original, but I don’t know of a sequel remaining popular while the original is basically thrown in the historical dustbin
I mean, movies that don’t exist is a very common expression on the podcast Blank Check, there’s even a (very small) subreddit that has existed before this thread...
Idk if any of you read Nathan Rabin, but basically his whole job is to dig up movies perfect for this thread and write about them. Nathan Rabin's Happy Place
I don’t know if this actually counts or if it’s too infamous, but they played this for us in 6th grade and I felt like I was in a fever dream the whole time. Even just remembering that I watched it in school seems fake and impossible.
