Late 90's Leo mania was insane. I remember in '99 Disney Channel would play constant reruns of Growing Pains just because Leo had a small supporting role for a few seasons, and all their promos for it featured Leo.
Clearly you didn’t have the same substitute teacher I did who always brought The Mummy with him and played it every time he was our sub
Add Selena to the 90s movie in school pile for me, too. Saw that multiple times in middle school Spanish class
Funnily enough I only remember seeing October Sky once in middle school. It’s possible it happened twice but don’t remember
Have you seen the new Selena documentary? My take is that it made me realize JLo did a good job capturing her voice and mannerisms
In Middle School while learning about the country of Jamaica, we spent two classes watching Cool Runnings.
I didn’t even realize they did one til I saw a random ad for it, might have to check it out. I do remember at the end of the Selena movie where they showed clips of the real Selena thinking “wow Jennifer Lopez looked/acted just like that”
We definitely watched October Sky in like every science class, but then in every history class, god, they must have shown us Glory so many times.
Movies I remember watching (not counting the ones they put on during free days) 1. October Sky 2. The Donald Duck math movie 3. Stand and Deliver 4. The first thirty minutes of the DiCaprio Romeo and Juliet until our teacher got in trouble for showing it 5. Oklahoma
forest gump national treasure (these two were constants for substitute days) of mice and men the patriot (8th grade, had to get a permission slip signed for VIOLENCE) some older version of romeo and juliet in 9th grade
I forgot Sound of Music. 8th grade chorus class. We watched Newsies too. Our school district had a pretty strict G-only policy, even though October Sky is I think PG and they randomly showed Lord of the Rings to the whole school once.
