I saw that movie on HBO because I was a horny middle school student. There’s a scene where Ross snorts a line of Coke off a woman’s fake breasts.
The craziest part of this to me is branding Chris Cooper as a “young doctor”. He has never been young in any movie, ever.
Don’t know if this qualifies, since I guess it had a second life after Jimin from BTS said it inspired him to write a song about it. Still, a very funny premise on paper where a guy (RIP Anton) is separated from the person he loves because of a visa and has to settle for Jennifer Lawrence.
first memory i have of him was in october sky when they played us that film in high school science class
science class as well, science class loved showing films to not have to teach us heh3 oh and i think thats the film uma and ethan met on and later married and then later divorced
late to the party but I honestly had a really good time with The Electric State. and The Woman in Cabin 10 (the novel) is like a super huge mega bestseller, so I'm not sure the movie fits here (though by all accounts it's not very good).
i never heard of the book or the movie, but all is welcome in this thread, and the electric state sounds familiar, glad you enjoyed it!
Gattaca has been thoroughly re-evaluated and it is usually considered a major film nowadays. It did bomb at the time, though.
I remember someone once said that October Sky was the first movie released directly to schools. It definitely felt like it.
