Levinson has a interesting career. Some really great stuff and then a few things like that that never happened.
Today I learned that Bret Michaels, yes… the lead singer of 80s pop metal band Poison, had a film production company with Charlie Sheen and wrote and directed feature films.
That's not like a major twist in the movie, it's just a plot point / part of arc of his relationship with that character
did you look this up or do you have this movie memorized, just waiting for a moment like today to come along to share it
I remember seeing the movie on tv many times as a kid and remembering that part yeah lol. The reason he’s even spending time with the kids is as part of some undercover spy gig or something so it’s not like the kid being in a musical was a huge part of the story / any potential twist!
Billing order is usually contractual, it's laid out in documents called Paid Ad Memos which detail billing order, if "and" or "with" is required, who can appear on art and how, what size their images can be or need to be, among other details
I feel like the sizing thing helps explain why so many posters are bad / awkward. Like, if Carrot Top has it in his contract that his face has to be 50% of the poster there’s only so much you can do lol
bingo! I've worked on a lot of key art for a lot of films and we come across so many little rules and details that you need to work around to get a final product. The actors reps do check as well, plenty of times we have had to adjust size by a few percentiles to fit the contract
And I think Tom Cruise has it in his film contracts going back to the late 80s where if he was the primary star, his name and only his name appears above the movie title in the poster.
Honestly that scene has one of the best jokes I've ever seen in an otherwise badly written movie (though Jack and Jill has it beat), and it's part of that whole plotline. It's memorable.
I know there's a lot of low budget schlock that gets sold by putting a big name actor on the poster but this one legit caught me off guard. Have never once heard of this.
