stumbled across this ridiculous ass movie, watching it right now and everyone is popping up... Hilary Swank Ben Foster Jason Segel Patrick Swayze Colin Hanks Rachel Leigh Cook
Kinda. If I remember correctly, Vantage Point was one event seen through the eyes of multiple people?? This was multiple events happening simultaneously that all kind of converge.
Would anyone feel like Phone Booth fits this thread? I personally love the film but never really see it show up anywhere and never mentioned when discussing Colin Farrell. Also, fun story, I went to Target to buy this on DVD when it came out (showing my age here…) and asked where it was since I didn’t see it in the movie section and the worker says it is up front. I go up front and see nothing and then realize they must have thought that I meant a literal pay phone, which they did d have, at the front of the store lol
I also wonder if it will continue to be forgotten or rarely mentioned because of the incredibly old technology that the film focuses on. Not saying that’s a reason and/or that “products of the time” hurt longevity but I’m curious how many people would skip it (or maybe it would make them watch it!) because they have no idea what a phone booth is and once they learn they skip it because it’s something they would have no connection to and might not even be able to process that that’s how things used to work / used to be lol Makes me think of those videos where parents give their kids a rotary phone or an old school flip phone or pager and watch how confused their kids are.
I don't know if it is a distribution issue but this was really hard to find for a good chunk of time. It is only 80 minutes long including credits which is ridiculosly short.
Book of Henry is one of those movies that is terrible but in a must-watch way. Completely unhinged, no idea how it got made.
My favorite factoid about The Book of Henry is that it basically single-handedly got Trevorrow removed from Star Wars IX
