I saw two movies at the theater in 24 hours this week. The first was "ET" in IMAX, which was a wonderful experience. The second was "Top Gun: Maverick" in one of those theaters where the seats move and I gotta say - that's the most optimal way to see it.
my last one before covid was a midnight screening of captain america winter soldier (never actually saw it in theaters for some reason) that was somehow not ruined by the fact that fucking cats was playing downstairs first one back was raya and the last dragon (premium theatre that was still half the price of what D+ charged at the time) and i had the theater to myself. bliss
love how this is the very pure direction this thread took just because i pointed out something about nickelodeon movies that fits here
Damn, according to Letterboxd, my last move before the pandemic was also Rise of Skywalker. We rented out a theater to see Godzilla vs. Kong with some friends, that was a good time. I think my first movie back with a crowd was Spiral.
Shit, I don’t think I’ve been to a theater since The Dark Knight lol. It’s just nothing I or anyone I know ever considers doing even though I live maybe 10 minutes from the theater. Did see Snow Day in theaters in middle school with probably close to 40 fucking people from my class, that was fun for probably only us lol my apologies to anyone else that was there Movies I remember seeing with girlfriends in the theater (no order): Snow Day Lizzie McGuire movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Over the Hedge Corpse Bride Wedding Crashers Inside Man I Am Legend The Dark Knight
Last movie was Underwater which probably belongs in this thread lol. First movie back was Godzilla v Kong which absolutely kicked ass.
I am currently watching Footloose (2011). This movie 100% belongs here. It’s happening right in front of me and I’m still not convinced it’s a real movie.
I guess at the time? I dunno. But it also had Julianne Hough. Miles Teller is also there, but he wasn’t a name back then.
It is. It's not great, by any means, but as someone who loves the genre, I had some fun with it. Fun fact: it came out two years after the movie due to development delays. It was made by Titus, the infamous company responsible for Superman 64.
Marcia Gay Harden, Jim Belushi, Frankie from Better Things and Lucy from Only Murders being in this truly breaking my brain
