Holy shit my app just did the opposite of what it's been doing the past several weeks! It only had showings for Slender Man all day, but I just checked again and every showing is available!
I saw on reddit today that basically for some people if you agreed to the new TOS despite canceling that some users would experience the account being placed back to active. I decided to check since I cancelled and then agreed to the new TOS. I found out mine had been placed back on the active despite cancelling. They suck.
MoviePass started a good change for moviegoers, but they are honestly an absolutely horrendous company that is completely mismanaged and you should definitely cancel as soon as possible (if they let you).
saw mission impossible. just gonna tell them their dumbass app crashes for every ticket check til they ban me
Nothing like sitting in front of the box office before they open so I can secure a ticket for a showing 12 hours from now before they black everything out
Opened my app and my only choices today in all 3 local theaters is the meg and every showing is peak pricing. likely cancelling this soon.
Moviepass customer service checked me in because of course the movies disappear before the box office opened. I got hung up on again 3 times before finally getting ahold of someone but she was able to check me in no problem... Now the theater ticketing system is down so I can’t buy the ticket within the 30 minute time slot. This is ridiculous. Edit:now Moviepass isn’t answering their phone
90 minutes later I have a movie ticket for Blackkklansman! I guess If you have some time to kill and a movie you want to see isn’t popping up in the app. Just call Moviepass and tell them you have a screen shot of it in the app and they’ll manually check you in. They didn’t ask for the screen shot either time I had to call haha
anyone else think its kinda hilarious to get an email from moviepass where they're promoting Mission Impossible. "SEE Mission Impossible this week!"... ummm we've been trying to!
at 7 am it went from every movie available to 10 am where all that was out was Slender Man and Mission Impossible.
Every movie and screen time was available to me this morning... but once again I check after 12pm and it's just Slenderman. I'll probably check into that tonight and just go see something else.
I can see them putting out a press release in the next week that says, "Moviepass users responsible for 50% of Slenderman ticket sales".
Technically the new terms don't start till the 15th, right? Going to hold out until then and see if movies stop just vanishing. If not, I'm out.
I just got my second cancellation email so yeah moviepass is scum for trying that shit with accepting and re-activating. I am glad I am done. regal hurry up already
I got a ticket to The Spy Who Dumped Me today by calling customer service again. It's a hassle but it works if you've got the time. Only took me 15 minutes today lol
I got an email today congratulating me on my new movie pass subscription, despite being reassured by customer service several times my account was cancelled this weekend. Went into the app to cancel for a THIRD TIME and I got a cancellation email but it says my last day is Sep 11th now. So I guess I got a month for free somehow???? This company is so stupid. Edit: lmao there are still no screenings showing up at any of the FIVE (5) theaters in my area so I still can’t even use it. If they charge me in September I’m gonna be soooo annoyed.
My renew date was the 11th so I'm giving it one more month. Good thing I am planning to see Slenderman tomorrow so I will at least save myself 2 dollars if this is the only movie I see all month.
I caved and watched Slender Man tonight. Holy shit that was legit one of the worst movies I've ever seen
I’m gonna check into Slender Man but buy a ticket and see whatever the fuck I want until more movies show up haha
Saw Cameron Post tonight and it was very good. It was the only movie available to watch at this specific theater. Glad it wasn’t Slender Man!
Those emails we got over the weekend. Monday go see Slender Man, Tuesday go see Mission Impossible. They're warning us what single movie they'll have on the app, because I definitely only have Mission Impossible available to me today
Make sure you guys are checking if you cancelled MoviePass reportedly re-enrolls past subscribers, forbids cancellations
