I really lucked out and was able to squeeze in a showing of Eighth Grade while I was in KC today. I went back into the app after taking a picture of my ticket stub and everything was gone.

 

Just got out of a comedy show and thought "hey it's early enough, I'm gonna go watch Mamma Mia 2" so I pulled up the app and there's no showtimes anywhere and I think this might be the last straw

 

My app thinks I'm in like Maryland or some shit and therefore won't show me any of the theaters that are actually around me, so I have to manually search for my city and THEN it works and every showing is available to me and it's never peak. When I tried it in Portland the other day I actually got the "no showing" message, but here it's fine.

We live in the same place so maybe this will work for you idk??

 

6:30AM and some showings at 5pm already at peak. If this weekend is all peak like last I’m jumping ship to sinemia.

 

Looking at the theater down the street from work.
No showings of Eighth Grade have peak pricing yet.
However, one showing for Mamma Mia 2 does, as does one showing for Teen Titans Go.
Equalizer 2 already has 2 at peak pricing. lol.

 

the only place showing blindspotting now only has showings past 5 pm so basically I ether drive super early across town and pick up tickets or hope moviepass will somehow have showings available after 5??

gonna try to stop at the theater after work and get a ticket to Eighth Grade later in the evening.

My friend who works in marketing at Regal HQ says their version will come out closer to the holidays to maximize gift giving season.

It's the only way movie theaters make money so thanks suckers

 

The burgers and fries at my Regal are legit good and cost the same as a large popcorn. No brainer if I’m hungry.

 

I usually don't buy anything at concessions. Only time I do is at the AMC because they have that Coca-Cola machine where you can make a bunch of flavors.

I don't really drink soda anymore, but I'll treat myself to a Vanilla Coke Zero (or Cherry Vanilla)

 

I'm just too cheap and think a trip to the movies should not be more than a $10 event

Unless it's Alamo Drafthouse or SMG where I'll get a burger and beers

 

Vanilla Root Beer is the best

 

The only soda I drink anymore is cherry coke at the movies

 

I can't go to the movies and not get popcorn

 

I get popcorn way more now because I can justify "I didn't pay for my ticket so I can splurge on some popcorn"

 

i pay for mine and my girlfriend's moviepass cards every month, and she buys our popcorn and drinks each time we go to a movie. works out nicely for both of us!

 

Oh shit, will try that next time.

 

I always get something at Alamo which is really bad for my bank account and body.

First off yes vanilla root beer is the best and when you put rum in it+++

Anyway eighth grade is showing up on my app with no peak but I also don’t know if I want to spend time on my only day off at the movies. It feels like such a large chunk. Idk. We’ll see!

If not hopefully this sticks around long enough for me to catch a showing after work one day.

Also Unfriended dark web is gone which is a small bummer lol

 

I relate to this so hard. I always try to be good but I can never pass on a milkshake (plus like three other things). Alamo season pass is going to be great for them since people seem to hardly ever pass on getting a snack there.
