I went and saw Three Identical Strangers tonight not knowing much going in. Holy cow what a movie/story.
I am very excited for this to finally go away so people who have no idea what they're doing stop yelling at me
I really hope people aren't yelling at the ticket takers because the app isn't working, because y'all control Moviepass's system of course
Last minute decided to see a 10PM showing of Unfriended. Figured I might as well get some use out of this before it’s over.
My favorite has been "I pay for movie pass but haven't received my card yet but they told me I don't need it" I'm sorry, we literally can't do the transaction without the card. "YES YOU CAN THEY TOLD ME YOU CAN." ...motherfucker, they aren't associated with our company AT ALL. People will yell at any customer service/retail employee for anything that doesn't go there way no matter what. I want to say I'm used to it after a decade of shitty jobs but no, it's always infuriating.
I got yelled at once for not accepting a Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon (I’m a manager at Bath & Body Works), so I 100% believe idiots are harassing theater employees over this.
“We need you to stop seeing movies, but we still need your money”. This is what every policy change over the past few months has been about.
My wife worked at Famous Footwear for a spell and got berated by some lunatic because they weren’t doing a BOGO 1/2 off special on all footwear. They were like “you always offer this deal, I come in here all the time!” This customer was thinking of Payless Shoes, and my wife just to calmly explain this to her, but after the relentless arguing she finally just blew up on the customer and was like “you think I’d know if we always run this special since I’m here 4 days a week!”
Good news: MoviePass worked for me tonight, so e-ticketing is still up for grabs. Bad news: Unfriended Dark Web was really dumb.
My renewal is on the 10th I guess. I'm unsure whether I'm gonna let it charge me for another month. I haven't had any trouble seeing movies yet, but also not sure how long that will remain true. I'm pretty sure I won't stick around after the price increase takes effect
Didn't work tonight when I went to see Eighth Grade, but I'm sticking with them for now. Even at $15 a month it's a steal and if I gotta change my viewing habits a bit I'm okay with that. At least until something better comes along. Also Eighth Grade was fucking stellar.
I cancelled last night, if I have to wait for every movie I’m just gonna visit the discount theater in town instead.
