I feel like if they just released a statement saying most major movies will have a surge pricing for the time being would go over much better than trying to make me believe unfriended 2 has a surge price at 10:30 on a Sunday night. I’m sure most of us would still not like it happening, but it’s better over questioning our intelligence. And I just checked fandango to double check, that unfriended 2 at 10:30 is empty as of right now, wild.
I think today is a lost cause, we’ll get a much better grasp on the situation based on surge pricing tomorrow.
Surge pricing here is not affecting Landmark theatres at all lol. Surge pricing for the same movies at AMC places
Me too. I tried to go to the 10AM ant-man showing this morning and it didn’t let me check in due to an “error”. I just went home.
I live in Utah where the majority of the population doesn’t go to movies on Sunday.... and every movie is peak pricing.
Yeah after not having any issues with the app or card for so long, I just noticed that the only movies showing up on my app are Hotel Transylvania and Skyscraper. Was gonna go catch Unfriended but now it doesn't show up
it's a joke on how despite it being in most theaters in the area, moviepass says it doesn't exist here.
Gotcha. It's not playing in a ton of theaters around here so I thought it might have been one of those weird situations where a film just kind of disappears after its opening weekend. 7 Days in Etebbe is a recent example.
I feel like this is going to basically become a Studio Movie Grill card for me, since that's the only chain doing e-ticketing and that seems to be the way to avoid surcharges
It was in the terms that we agreed to that they could change whatever they want, whenever they want. So I think they covered themselves legally in that regard. It’s shady, but whatever.
Eh I guess I can live with the weekdays not being peak pricing for now. I know we think Wednesday is the death toll so I guess I’ll get my 40th movie in today or tomorrow.
I never see movies on fridays and Saturdays but Sunday nights... damn. But yea no surcharge for anything today...except no mi6
Sounds like the app is still pretty fucked. Only like half the movies that are actually showing at theaters by me show up on the app. Random movies are now entirely grayed out. According to Reddit, check in is still broken unless its an e-ticketing theater.
