my internet was down today and I checked the app and then found out moviepass was down too! saw that soo much had peak pricing...for a thursday night... kinda lame.
So after being frustrated with the peak pricing being attached to 90% of the movies and showings in my area, I made my way to the theater for the first time in a few weeks last night. I was going to see Blindspotting, which didn't have peak pricing. I went to check into the movie, but it wasn't working. It wasn't until I went online that I saw Moviepass wasn't working at all last night unless you used e-ticketing (this isn't an option in my area). This was a known issue to Moviepass, yet they did NOTHING to communicate it to customers. Much later on in the night I went back into the app to see if it was working yet and they did have a pop up saying they were having issues. There are three theaters in my area, two AMCs and one indie theater. If the indie theater didn't exist I would've already switched over to AMC a-list. I'm hoping their customer service can give peak pricing passes to accounts as a tool to make their customers happy. I just want to go back to the old days of Moviepass!
Mission Impossible is showing up as premium and not supported in every theater lol Tempted to just do the Spy Who Dumped Me because the preview screening isn't premium out of principle
The MoviePass outage was caused by the company temporarily running out of cash, and it borrowed $5 million to turn the service back on F
Just checked the app, it appears to still be working for me despite the outages. Although I see they've completely blocked out Mission Impossible, even the 2D showings.
I'm not sad they went bankrupt, dumb hedge fund guys aren't someone I'm worried about Glad they had the idea though so companies who know what they're doing can have their own plans
They are for sure blocking MI6 because they can’t afford it lol. Oh well, I want to see it bad enough and it’s easily worth paying for.
The closest to me is 30 min away. Nothing but Showcase Cinemas and a few one-off theaters in the Providence area.
A friend couldn't use his yesterday because of the lack of cash debacle. So glad I got out when I did.
Glad I checked here before heading to the movies today. Come on, Regal. I'm not saddling myself to AMC when the two of them here are utter shit in comparison.
I can still get e tickets (for now) - Will definitely try to go every day until it completely folds in.
Wow hahaha what a complete shitshow. Glad I cancelled mine. Peak pricing is literally everywhere around me, since I’m in a densely populated region. Waiting on Regal to offer up.
