I don’t get this at all. Like I’ve also mentioned it to friends and those who have vaguely heard of it are often like “isn’t it going bankrupt or something?” and it’s like, not yet, so idk what you’re hesitant about lol. And if they did then so what? It just blows my mind that people who like to go to the movies would completely reject such an incredible offer. It’s like if you didn’t just not get Netflix ~5-10 years ago, but also insisted that Blockbuster was a genuinely preferable option
JW2 was a fun movie. it was dumb, there are dumb scenes and lines and the characters are skin deep. but the movie itself was fun.
Saw it last night. The dinos are clearly the best part about the film. Funny how it’s the same thing about the Apes trilogy except those movies are fantastic.
the apes are actually characters though, the dinos are just extras haha. except for the raptor and maybe the t-rex since they are both kind of characters at this point.
hi guys, just moved from SensCritique (french website) to Letterboxd! Who's there? (Profil culturel et avis de Peachfuzz - SensCritique // Emmanuel Van Elslande’s ratings
You don’t get it at all? Lol. Every single person I’ve told about it had never heard about it before. Before, all I had to say was “it’s $10 a month for unlimited movies in theater!” Now it’s “its $10 a month for unlimited movies in theater! Well, each movie once. Well, and there’s surge pricing for undetermined movies” Like....what’s not to get? Ones a lot harder to explain to someone. It sounds like too much small print. It would be hard to sell me on it if I came in knowing nothing at this point I agree that it going bankrupt doesn’t matter. That shouldn’t be a deterrent imo, just a reason to enjoy it while you can
What I don’t get is why that would turn anyone away. To explain it to someone all you’d need to say is: -$10/month -1 free movie a day -Can only see any specific movie once -Would recommend waiting a while before going to a blockbuster If you consider that too much small print then I don’t even know, that seems so absolutely straightforward to me lol. Them changing policies often is a bigger deterrent, but has that actually turned anyone who already had it? Because every policy change I’ve witnessed is still an objectively great deal. And have they even been available to the general public for more than a year? It’s not surprising at all that they haven’t completely figured it out yet
I definitely find it difficult to sell people on Moviepass because of all the caveats. I think because the deal sounds so unbelievable that when you start listing all the restrictions they just assume it means Moviepass is too good to be true. Sure once you literally spell it out for them it becomes undeniable but getting out all the details can be difficult in my experience.
i have no problem selling moviepass to people now.... if all of these "restrictions" were in place from the beginning i still would have sprinted to join up. Can only see a movie once is totally fine. NOW i wish there was some clarity of what qualifies as 'peak time'
what i dont get is if they were in such dire straits, then why did they go through the trouble of doubling down and offering certain subscrtions for even cheaper? "like you though $10 a mo was cheap...buy a year plan and fuck it, its $7" and im like wtf?!
American Animals was great. Loved how they incorporated the real guys. I felt like I knew all of those guys in college. (I didn’t, but you know what I mean)
