Movie Pass is literally the modern day Priceline. From the moment they announced the $9.99 price point, it was bound to be a dumpster fire. But yeah, it shouldn't happen, it just is.
I’m gonna need Regal to announce a plan. The AMCs here are a dumpster fire. They just renovated the Regal at the mall I work in and it’s the nicest thing I’ve seen in a minute.
I think I would still use moviepass until it's dying day, but same with Regal, I go to Regal most times anyway even with moviepass, so it would be an easy sell.
My Regal was a shit whole and recently renovated to a Titan Lux with electronic recliners and all. Its a great theater. They redid the AMC in our mall about 8 years ago and made it a dine in and at first I liked it, but now cant stand it. Seats are so uncomfortable. And any other AMC I've been to just seems out dated and falling apart. It surprised me too since to me AMC is a larger and known company than Regal.
I went to see incredible 2 yesterday and of course the seat I choose has the broken recliner and I was miserable. those seats aren't comfy at all unless they have reclining.
MP may go under sooner than later MoviePass' monthly losses ramped up to $40 million in May, and the company says it might need over $1.2 billion more in capital
I'm an awful customer because someone ordered something months before someone else and didn't get it until after the other person did and I think that's unprofessional? I don't follow.
if they're gonna make me essentially pay a tax on all star wars and marvel films, they should remove the shitty restriction on only being able to see something once.
So the way your comment appears I only saw "If they're gonna make me essentially pay a tax on all star.." and that's all I saw and I got super concerned because I love Smash Mouth.
I love moviepass and all. I wasnt pissed when I was "randomly selected" to take a picture of my moviestub. Its really not that big of a deal. It literally takes 2-5 seconds. I wasnt too mad when they changed it to only one showing per film. If I really want to see it again Im willing to wait for $2.00 rental @ Redbox. But this upcharging for new releases is starting to rub me the wrong way. They cant just keep switching stuff up. I paid $10 a month for unlimited movies for anything in the theater.
Kinda glad about the news of updates in August mainly cause I want MoviePass to still be around in August lol.
The surge pricing doesn't sound that bad. The only blockbusters I see on opening weekend are usually the ones I'm super hyped for (Star Wars, basically) and for those I'm usually buying a reserved seat on opening night way ahead of time anyway. Most others I usually catch within a week or two of the release.
The surge pricing is dumb. Being able to upgrade for a few bucks to IMAX or 3D is cool. Bring a friend feature could be handy. I just don't see how MoviePass is ever gonna make money.
fair point about shelling out the money in advance anyway to get seats for a big opening night showing
I love how Moviepass will be viewed as a pioneer for the theater industry five years down the line and right now they're about to bottom out.
