Oh hey my wife and I just got this. She's already watched like 5 movies. All I've seen is Jumanji lol. I suck at this.
It always loads more than the ticket price in case there is a sudden raise in price without MoviePass being made aware. After you buy your ticket, any overage is unloaded from the card. If you use the overage to buy something else, like an ungraded ticket, concessions or a 2nd ticket (which it sounds like you may have inadvertently done), you run the risk of being banned. If I were you, I'd preemptively call customer service and explain what happened to try to avoid penalty. You'll probably be okay if it just happened once but... In the future, ALWAYS buy just one ticket with your MoviePass and then if you need a second ticket, buy it in a completely separate transaction.
Oh okay! And nah, once he said that we were like wait what and realized he had charged us for two so he cancelled it and just did one
Finally got to see Lean on Pete tonight. What a movie. Got on the elevator on the way out and an older woman said to her husband "I thought it was gonna be about a boy who finds happiness by befriending a horse" - I couldn't help but say "not quite, huh?"
Death Of Stalin was fucking terrific. Haven't cried laughing in a theater since Popstar but this one did it
Going to try to see Lean on Pete tonight. Finally got to see Annihilation last night, I liked it quite a bit. It put me in a daze for a couple of hours after.
Got my card on March 30 and I've seen five movies already. The Death of Stalin Ready Player One A Quiet Place Super Troopers 2 Blockers I usually used to go to the movies 1-2 times a month so I'm already well ahead of what I'm used to.
Heading into Super Troopers and I'm completely sober, so I have relatively low expectations but I'm sure it will be fun
You can buy tickets for the "next day" with moviepass if you use the kiosk at 12:01 AM correct? Thinking of doing that Wednesday night cause Thursday morning kiosk line was nuts when Black Panther opened.
The app should refresh with new showtimes right around 12:01 or shortly after and then, yes, you can go ahead and buy "next day" tickets.
It's kinda depressing that it's equally likely to inspire someone to watch Phantom Thread and Daddy's Home 2
I realized far too late that I should be utilizing theatres rewards cards on top of MoviePass. I usually hit up same Regal theatre that is close to my work.
after I told my co-worker how many movies I watched he was like "man you must have so much regal rewards?" I was like nah I don't do that. He was upset with me.
You're not supposed to be able to use AMC Stubs with MoviePass, but I always do. Get free food all the time.
You can hear every popcorn rustle and candy bag crinkle, it's best seen in a matinee haha. Granted I am sensitive to those noises anyway. Two nights ago at Annihilation the guy next to me had a jumbo bag of Chex Mix, it drove me insane.
I never get food at the theatres cause that popcorn just grosses me out. and that fake nacho cheese. And I dont drink soda. So I never get the perks cards. Plus I would feel like I'm really screwing the theaters over if I abused that
Oh really? That’s the only theaters near me with a reward program. I was looking forward to utilizing it lol
Well, MoviePass has no issue with it, but apparently if you read the TOS for AMC Stubs, it says you're not supposed to get points when buying tickets using MoviePass. I also go to the kiosk though and type in my email address and get points every time. I paid $15 to upgrade to Stubs Premiere (which gets you points 5x faster, plus you skip the concession lines) so I'm definitely gonna make sure I get my points.
I don't use my rewards card because personally it would feel like stealing, getting free movies from seeing sorta free movies feels wrong to me personally but not judging
