Most of them were me trying to see as many of the Oscar films before the awards show. But yeah, as long as I can hit two a month, I'll keep paying for my subscription.
Got my card today!! I was going to use it after work but I took a three hour nap instead and then couldn't muster up the energy to leave the house. But I'm definitely seeing Annihilation tomorrow.
MoviePass has teamed with I Heart Radio for new subscribers. $29.95 for a 3 month subscription to both. MoviePass Bundles Subscription With iHeartRadio Streaming Service
Just got added to the take a picture of your stub group of users. They’re probably like “this dude sees too many”
Game Night was funny. The first five minutes made me think it was going to be terrible but I was pleasantly surprised. "Man, something weird is going on with glass tables tonight."
I just got my Sinemia card, if moviepass let's you do advance tickets in the future than I'll probably do it then but for now I think I'll be happy with this
Apparently my city is getting a new theater with recliners and the works at the end of the year. This is extremely surprising considering the last 6 out of 7 movies I’ve seen have been in completely empty theaters. It’s going to be a lot closer to my house though so I’m all for it!
This is probably a dumb question I could find the answer to with a simple search but do you have to wait for the card to start using this?
Some theaters have the ability to do e-ticketing which lets you get a ticket without using your card but if your theater doesn’t have it (not many do yet) you will have to wait.
Yeah, in Chicago there was probably one theatre with e-ticketing out of 20+ within a decent commuting distance. They said the card typically arrives in 2 weeks but it probably took 5 business days for mine to get here.
I’m gonna see A Quiet Place with my wife tomorrow. Do you have to do two transactions where you movie pass one ticket and buy the other in a separate purchase? It’s not a huge deal if they have to be done separately, but it does concern me when the theatre has reserved seating. I’d hate to get the movie pass ticket and then start the transaction on the full price ticket to see that there are no more adjacent seats. Sorry, I have anxiety issues and these are the questions about minimal issues that get magnified in my mind lol.
Perused around the app a bit and found the only 2 theaters remotely near me that do e-ticketing are over an hour away and are also Studio Movie Grills..ugh. Wish I had remembered to sign up for this last week..I’m off work for the next 9 days haha.
Essentially the card is a debit card that MoviePass puts money on as soon as you select the show time on the app. So I imagine unless the theatre can split transactions onto two cards that you would have to do it separately.
Yeah, knowing how the moviepass transaction works I figured that would be the case. Just gotta hope that someone isn’t simultaneously purchasing their ticket and picking the seats immediately next to me.
Definitely do two separate transactions. If you do it all in one transaction and just split the payment between your MoviePass card and some other card, you risk getting banned.
The ticket stub verification has been workong smoothly for me so far. I just take a picture as soon as I buy the ticket so I don't forget. I've been holding onto my stubs bc some people said it would ask for the same stub multiple times but I've yet to have that happen.
saw Lean On Pete today and it fucking wrecked me. incredible film. also I have the take a picture of your ticket stub thing too and it's worked perfectly fine so far.
