Well, I dunno... it's weird. At the top of the wikipedia page, it says it is going wide on the 6th. The indie theaters around here are already showing it, but the big Cinemark/AMCs don't have it yet and aren't getting it this week... Then elsewhere on the wikipedia page it says the official release date for the US is the 13th?!?!?
It's just funny because the posters at my local theater has the release date as last month so it's just a whole confusing mess.
So you have to drive to the theater to get a ticket seat? All the theaters around me are reserved seats so everyone books in advance. Kind of inconvenient then as I would always have a bad seat unless I drive to the theater hours before
I usually do it depending on the movie. If it's like a big movie I usually drive to the movie theater in the morning and use the self service kiosk to grab a ticket. If it's a smaller movie, I usually just get there an hour early and grab it and hang out at the mall.
Midnight Sun was actually fairly solid, it’s very paint by numbers but I think they did a good job at said painting.
All my theaters are reserved seating but I just go on days/times that I know won't be as busy. I don't care about seeing things opening day/weekend so it's never been an issue for me.
Unless you have any theaters around you that have e-tickets with Moviepass. As far as I know, only Studio Movie Grill is doing it now. I can buy my ticket anytime that day and show up
Landmark Theaters (The Magnolia and The Inwood, for us in DFW) are also using e-ticketing now, but I haven't tried it at one of them yet. I wonder how it will work because the last time I went to the Magnolia, they didn't have reserved seating.
Just signed up two days ago, patiently awaiting my card. I have a feeling this is going to pay off nicely, especially because from what I can tell a lot of theaters in Chicago honor Moviepass, even small ones with limited release films. Right away I plan on seeing Isle of Dogs, Annihilation, Red Sparrow, Game Night.
my co-worker has had moviepass since October and he has only used it 4 times and I'm like WHY So much good movies in that time span to only have 4
My man, Chicago is NICE with Movie Pass. I live right by the Davis Theatre and I've used an abused that bad boy.
I saw Blockers tonight and had a pretty good time. Going to try and see A Quiet Place and The Death of Stalin too sometime this weekend. Also would like to catch up on Black Panther, Ready Player One and Unsane. I'm really behind.
Said it in the movie thread, but I strongly recommend seeing A Quiet Place in as empty of a theater as possible. You don't wanna see this with a ton of people rustling candy packages and chomping popcorn.
I registered for sinemia just because of the convenience of not being in the theater to order the ticket. They also have a couples one instead of individual which I'm doing so I can bring my gf or anyone else if I want. I can only do 2 movies per month but I don't normally see more than that. Hopefully it works well both of these seem like crazy good deals
Oh my God, I just got a call from my local theater and I won one of those Guess the Oscars contests. I just won 24 movie passes.
You literally only have to see 2 movies a month to make a profit off it. Seems like it'd be easy to do, even on slow months.
