I actually thought you’d have to do that when I first heard about movie pass so I’m not too upset about it. It keeps people from abusing it so that’s good. My main concern is that their customer service is notoriously bad and this type of feature is bound to increase customer service calls exponentially.
I'm not really sure. I know they WANT to crack down on people buying a ticket for movie loyalty points and then not seeing the movie, but this doesn't solve that. People can still get the ticket, take a photo, and not go to the movie.
I think the main purpose is to cut back on people buying gift cards for the exact amount of one ticket.
Yeah, I've heard of people doing that or trying to get upgraded to premium showings (by paying the difference) so to me it seems like a step just to keep people honest
Didn’t know that was an issue. I remember someone mentioning that MP can tell when you’ve purchased a ticket versus purchasing concessions or gift cards.
It depends on the terminal id so they can tell the difference between most concessions purchases because most places don’t use the same cash registers for tickets as they do concessions. Gift cards are straight from the box office so it’s not as easy to separate those purchases.
There’s a theater near my work that is too slow to have a separate box office so they sell the tickets at concessions. The one near my house is busy and I almost always use the kiosk.

The main page took a minute or two to load for me and the theater list wouldn't load at all but i was able to get it to work if I searched for the movie and found the theater from there.
I think most people worry about the technical issues since they have Comcast-level customer service. If it worked properly, it’s only a minor inconvenience.
Yea as i said earlier about getting my ticket redeemed i tried emailing no response. Tried calling and every single time it says they have experienced a growing customer base and are too busy or some shit.
Yep that's the problem we're having. There's literally no way to get an answer from their customer service and all we need to do is get Kaitie's card activated. So hopefully the ticket upload thing works or it's gonna be yet another pain in the ass for this thing
i havent gotten an email for that either. i mean that's fine... i just have to remember to have my phone more charged. theres been a few times when ive made it to theater just barely with 3% left on my phone

I just bought a ticket for a movie tonight, but the app didn't prompt me to take a picture of the stub even though I got the email. Now I feel like I need to hold on to the stub indefinitely just in case. I hope I'll be able to buy another ticket tomorrow.
If you can't immediately snap a picture of your ticket right when you buy it, and then be done with it, this is definitely going to cause issues.
