Bit the bullet and signed back up for A-List bc I wanted to see Women Talking and Infinity Pool.

 

Just got an email from Moviepass saying I can sign up… I think I will do the basic version and see how it goes. It says you can cancel anytime so if it ends up being shit ass, I’ll just cancel it.

 

I also received the movie pass email but I'm deciding not to. it's not worth it for me since there's really only a regal and an amc nearby. would make more sense for me to just sign up for one of their services

 

The MoviePass resurgence feels like a scam to me -- my invite email had an ad for the CEO's book

 

I signed up for the cheapest one. We'll see how well it works or doesn't work.

 

It's just too vague for me. They give you credits, which translate to movie tickets... but it says you get between 1-3 movies a month on the low plan... which like, is it 1 or is it 3?

 

the highest plan is the weirdest one to me. 30 movies in a month, but like... there isn't even like 10 new movies to see in a month.

 

Either way A list is $5 more and 3 movies a week so why would anyone not do that

 

if i had an AMC theater within walking distance to me, i'd do that for sure.

 

A List seems like a no-brainer if you go to the movies more than even once a month, but I get that AMC isn't convenient for everyone.

 

the only reason I'd possible consider signing up for MoviePass would be if I could actually get 3 movies a month on the low plan, then I might use them at the arthouse/indie theater as a way to supplement my A-List sub

 

Movie theaters deserve to go out of business

It's a weird move that will probably backfire but fwiw it does not affect AMC Stubs members

 

I will simply move seats in the empty theater

 

I feel so bad for the box office employees who will get absolutely abused by older miserable fucks for this

 

makes it that much more painful that my local regal is on the chopping block. i won’t know if that shuts down or not for another week and a half

 

Isn't it kind also admitting some of your seats suck? Shouldn't you NOT be admitting that some of your seats are terrible for the experience.

 

Theyve been posting a lot of closings on Reddit, seems like some are accurate, others are just weird lease things ending/renewing.

 

Does anyone do the A-List+Fandango for $5 rewards? Recently switched from Atom to Fandango for this but it looks like you're limited in the selection for what movies you can use the $5 with, is this accurate?

 

Fandango rewards work on Vudu too. I don’t have A-List, but I usually buy/rent movies on Vudu.

 

got my Moviepass card this week... we'll see how much of a shit show this ends up being haha.

 

We used Moviepass again for the first time this weekend. One of our theaters does an e-ticket option so we didn’t need the cards right away. They showed up yesterday so I’m optimistic about it.
