got a push notification from MoviePass app the other day promoting a new movie being released, so there's one way they're monetizing
As long as I can keep watching unlimited movies for $10/month, I'm okay with the push notifications and the emails trying to get me to see Forever My Girl.
Best Picture Film Festival ~ Regal Cinemas Academy Awards Best Picture Film Festival I almost paid to see Dunkirk for the first time on a 32 inch tv like a sucker. Also excited to see Get Out and Lady Bird in the theater again.
Are they going to show them individually though, or do you have to get the pass? MP won't cover this if they don't do individual screenings...
I would imagine so because they had individual passes last year. Even if they didn't $35 is a great deal for someone who hasn't seen these yet.
That film festival is really cool. I like that there's more flexibility than the way AMC does it too, where they only show the films twice each - either split up into two days, or in one continuous marathon.
Yeah... but at AMC at least, you have to watch them all at once, or maybe they split it in 2-3 parts, but you have to watch like 3-4 movies in a row each time. You can't just see them all over the course of a couple weeks. I'll probably just buy tickets for another movie and sneak in when they're playing Get Out or whatever it is I want to see.
Worst case scenario I pay $35 which I would pay for solely to see Dunkirk in a theater again and Get Out for the first time in a theater.
So in "me" fashion I saw Call Me By Your Name and I got in my car and while driving checked and couldnt find my moviepass. I panicked the fuck out and raced back. Retraced my steps, looked for like 15 minutes, couldnt find it. I asked an usher and one of them found it on the ground, but those 15 minutes were 15 of the emptiest and most insecure minutes of my life. I treated you poorly MoviePass Card. I will never neglect you again my friend.
Right when I ordered my movie pass my AMC got rid of e-ticketing, not terrible, I live ten minutes from the theater so it's not a total loss if the showing I want is sold out, so i've tried to batch showings near times I go just in case. Hoping to see Shape of Water, but have Phantom Thread, Darkest Hour, and The Post all at either 7 or 715.
Going to see The Shape of Water tomorrow! A normal price for the ticket would be an insane $15.75, so thankful for MP.
My AMC is one of those dine-in theaters. When you check in can you then pick your seat? Or do you need to go to a kiosk/box office to pick the seat? Like if I drove by the theater before it was open at 8am and checked in for a 10pm movie could i pick my assigned seat right then?
