Not sure if many used Letterboxd, but it's great for tracking movies via it's diary + creating lists etc. I've just started using it properly and enjoying it a lot.
Just followed you! I'm horrible at watching movies, but maybe writing about film for Substream will mean I use this more now haha.
Awesome! Just followed you back. Watching the movies I'm good at.. actually writing about them is where I need to stop being so lazy, haha!

I've had a good run these past couple months - 32 movies in March and 54 in April - but now that I'm going back to my small town for the summer where the weather is nicer and there's only one theatre with a very limited selection, I think I'm going to be spending most of my time in Books List 2017
Everything new I saw in April... 50.) Your Name. (Makoto Shinkai, 2017) 51.) The Fate of the Furious (F. Gary Gray, 2017) 52.) Colossal (Nacho Vigalondo, 2017) 53.) Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Steven Spielberg, 1977)* 163. The Raid (Gareth Evans, 2011)
No clue if I'm missing one or two things as far as the DC stuff goes, but like I said, I'm bad at watching movies haha.
Morbid curiosity, mostly. But, also to see if it's able to back up its rawness with any artistic value. To be honest, it really didn't faze me that much. I think in part I built up how terrible it would be in my head for several years and it ended up not matching that, but also I think the movie is so eager to shock that it kind of undermines its own nastiness. The most infamous scene (you know the one) really was not as graphic as I expected. Overall, in terms of quality: it's okay, not great, a few smart touches, but nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is. A movie that tackled the same kinds of things that A Serbian Film does with a lot more artistic merit is Salo. It's several decades older, less graphic, and fucked my day up way, way more.

Honest question, if I use this thread for keeping a list, but leave blank the names of movies I've watched for work and can't talk about would that be annoying or cocky? I feel like it might come off that way
My 2017 list so far: 1. Girl on a Train 2. The Witch 3. Green Room 4. Everybody Wants Some 5. Sausage Party 6. It Follows 7. Jupiter Ascending 8. Finding Dory 9. Arrival 10. Moonlight 11. The Autopsy of Jane Doe 12. (redacted) 13. (redacted) 14. Wakefield 15. (redacted) 16. Band Aid 17. (redacted) 18. (redacted) 19. (redacted) 20. (redacted) 21. (redacted) 22. Haha, I would just list the ones you can talk about. Also, I have been informed by several reliable sources that I hate good movies and love crappy ones. So you may very well be living my dream!
