He definitely is. I realized it because of his feature on the Dangerous Summer reissue, and his part on the Paerish record from a couple years back, but he's just such a good singer, and it becomes more obvious when he's on a track with someone else.
Tightrope is such a top notch song, probably the best song they’ve put out. Loving the album more and more in general.
Not super into these guys but got a guest list spot for their show in MA because I'm friends with Softcult, one of the openers. I will say they put on one hell of a show. Usually only listen to the first few tracks off Feel Something but definitely going to check out the later albums as well after seeing that performance.
I think I just needed fall for Ruckus to click. I’m still not crazy about the dancier sounding songs, but they're no worse than my least favorites off NGLTG, which has only gotten better for me over time.
I think I've compartmentalized the catalogue enough that I'm fine with the dancier numbers compared to their previous work. I hope you choke is such a damn banger.
I feel like I've listened to songs from this band before but nothing stood out. I heard two songs from this album and they seem like a good band, yes?!? I'm going to listen to this, what else am I missing?
I’m in the minority that loves the feel of No Good Left To Give. You know what you’re getting through the first 3 songs. I feel like it’s a modern update of the B&C separation era in feel, but never gets quite as heavy and groove oriented as that one does.
Band is good (but this is my least favorite of their records). If you're starting here, I'd work backwards (don't skip "Cherry Thrill" and "Barbed Wire Body," especially if you like Ruckus!). Feel Something is probably their best record, but No Good Left To Give is also great.
Really like this, no album announcement with it, but not surprised it hasn’t even been a year since Ruckus.
First hint of fall in the air, time for NGLTG. I still love this album so much. I never got into Feel Something, but the emotion really cuts me on this album, and that doesn't happen a lot. Need to listen Ruckus soon too. EDIT: Just let it play into Ruckus. Tightrope is still an unreal song.
Wild to me that someone can like their other stuff but couldn’t get into Feel Something. I mean everyone has different tastes, so I’m not meaning that in a negative way or attacking anyone. It’s just such an important album to me, so my extreme bias leads me to bewilderment. Lol Tightrope has to be their best song imo. I know it was submitted for a Grammy, so I wish it had at least gotten a nomination just to give them more attention. But yeah, unreal is a great way to describe it.
It's probably Feel Something > No Good Left To Give > Ruckus!, but it's not a huge gap between the first two.
I think Ruckus is a huge step up from the first two although they're both good. The first two are about even for me.
