Yeah something switched in this band, and I love NGLTG but don't love anything that came before it. New singles are great.
Still a month from the release of this and 5/10 songs have been released. Hate these kinds of rollouts. Anyway, stoked for this and avoiding over-listening to the released songs until the full things out.
I listened to the last one once and I think I'll hold off on this one. Listened to the first 3 a lot and feel like being familiar with 3/10 is already borderline too much.
Wow, I had no idea these guys had a new album coming. I'm in the same boat as most here, they really lost me with NGLTG. But hot damn all 5 of these singles are fire! I see the custard vinyl is only sale for $17.50 on Amazon, might have to pull the trigger.
This is pretty dang good, them releasing 5 singles for this lessens the impact for me though on first listen, they are good to great songs, but I hope the trend of releasing half the album before it drops stops.
Just finished my first listen of this and I love it. Thankfully I only listened to the singles one time each so they weren’t stale for me, but I totally agree with the complaints on the rollout. But yeah loved this more immediately than NGLTG. Feel Something is a special album for me so it wouldn’t be fair to even try to compare this one but I’m really happy with this album
So glad I only listened to the 4th single once and never listened to the 5th. Tightrope is so pretty. Pat's definitely taken a more modern pop approach to his melodies. I think it works well, this is the best vocal performance he's ever had.
Hmm yeah that was pretty good. I know the comparison has already been made, but feels like a Citizen trajectory if NGLTG was As You Please, then this one is LIYGW. Definitely some jams on here though. I'll be listening to it frequently. Yip nailed the production, can't imagine it sounding better.
I liked this on first listen but didn't love it. Goes a different direction in some spots than I was expecting and it'll require a few listens before I decide how I feel about it.
I like it a lot although not quite as much as their last on first listen. Tightrope and Fail You are the highlights for me.
This album is super catchy and the vocal performances are really strong. Also so cool to hear a record mixed the bass so beefy and punchy but not muddy at all. I agree I think people would enjoy this as an album more with less prerelease tracks, for a 10 song record you should have 3 singles max.
