Oh man this album just made me bawl alone in my room multiple times. Forest Fire was especially destructive. His turns of phrase and pauses made it all too much sometimes. "You are the sunset" gahhh. That being said, this was a singular and incredible listen. Like nothing I've ever heard before, pure unfettered grief, but it's beautiful in its arms-out acceptance of the darkness. (I realize everybody's probably said this by now)
I've only listened to it a few times since the release, despite it being probably my favorite album of the year. It's just too much.
He was phenomenal tonight. Set was half songs off the album and half new songs. He was actually really funny, and judging from some of the new songs and stories he told, it seems like he's doing a lot better.
