Yeah that would be dumb to let him go; still has the juice to compete at the top.

BTW, another masterful drive from SVG at Watkins Glen. Just has to get better at ovals (he's trending better), and then he can compete for championships in a few years (assuming he keeps winning the road courses).

At 5 wins now, he's already in the top 100 drivers for wins all time.

He’s gonna need to drastically improve at ovals to be a championship threat. He’s getting better, but better means going from running 30th to 20th. Until he can actually run top 10 and be a threat to win on an oval, he’s gonna max out where he is now. I love the guy. But it’s gonna take a lot more improvement that I don’t know if we’ll see him get to.

Looks like Herta is moving to F2. Hell of a gamble.

Yeah it’s wild. Might as well take the chance. He’ll always have an Indy ride waiting for him if it flops.

I guess this is what happens when you string your best driver along.

he’s the one that decides to leave

He’s going to Andretti. It also wasn’t his choice even if they’re making it seem like it is. Penske has made it pretty known Malukas is getting that seat.

As a European who has only seen a few Indy races, I have no idea if Herta is good enough. But it would be great to see him in F1.

He's extremely talented but prone to some of the most boneheaded decisions sometimes.

I will say, Helmut Marko wanted FIA to give him an exemption after a test a year or so ago, so I think he might be able to make it. He's very good at tire management. I'll be very curious to see how this all goes. I hope he makes it and does well, he's a great personality and easy to root for
