Toyota is now back in F1 without having to run their own team or develop their own engine - #winning

Doriane Pin is lethal on the track, in anything she's in; she probably has the best chance as a female in getting to F1

GM must be doing pretty well as a brand, as the amount of money it will take to run this project is astronomical. They must be banking on attracting some serious brand power to offset the total cost

GM is looking at like $15 billion in profit in 2024 I think they’re probably fine

The fact they binned Andretti off in amongst all this is really annoying.

I wonder if Alpine/Renault ending their engine programme might have sweetened the GM deal a bit too.

I think Michael Andretti will still be involved with the program, but just in a reduced capacity. And yeah I think with Renault turning into cowards and ditching their engine program probably drove the FIA to look more fondly into having GM join.

Michael is not involved. Mario is on the teams board as a director.

I read something which suggested that this GM bid is somewhat separate to some of what Andretti had been setting up. So, they (Andretti) have been creating a factory somewhere near Silverstone, but GM aren't particularly involved with that. The assumption is that GM will maybe try to take that over, but really that was the basis of the Andretti bid (which was rejected), so the whole thing is really confusing and messy.

It looks like we could have a situation where a team which was rejected (pretty unfairly) ends up running the racing operation for the next successful bidder.

    Some absolutely classic F1 nonsense.

Can't wait to watch this thing in WEC and IMSA next year; both keep cementing their status as the best racing on the planet

Yuki deserves that ride but Red Bull are shitty and will continue to pass over him
