This is so bad. Apparently Stroll and Albon said they could barely see for the final stint, and Stroll said he almost passed out several times.
F1 not preparing the track properly, causing Sainz to hit a manhole cover and break his car, and then still giving him a grid penalty. Second practice delayed so much they kicked out fans because they couldn’t keep workers any longer. Amazing. This weekend is a disaster already. Embarrassing. So hard to care about F1 lately.
Despite the awful start to the weekend, I'm still looking forward to the race. Plenty of fast sections, with some good overtaking spots. Good chance for some accidents though unfortunately. But with a full crowd and lights ablaze, I think it should be a fun race to watch.
I haven’t watched a race in months. When I do I watch the first 10 mins and shut it off when max gets like a 5 second lead.
Technically it was 10pm local time; I'm guessing for the spectacle of racing down the strip on a Saturday night, and all the glitz and glamour associated with that.
Podium celebration was a bit drawn out and torturous. Clearly didn't learn anything from the absolute mess which was the first Miami podium. Cars seemed to be able to move up and down the pack easily enough, but most of the moves were kind of dull, because they were foregone conclusions down that massive straight. Could be a fun one if we have a situation where the lead cars are more evenly matched. Bigger worry for this race is going to have been a the fan experience and the disruption it's caused to locals. It doesn't sound like it's been much fun.
