Watched Indy, F1, and F2 yesterday. Indy was fun. Was gutted for Grosjean but feels like he's going to get a win this season for sure. F2 was good, especially the Sprint. Bearman doing what he is doing at 17 is mad. Could have another Max/Charles/George on our hands here. He should stay in F2 a second year if he doesn't win the championship, but if he does, Ferrari should push to get him a seat somewhere. As for F1, it was a bad race but there's reasons for that. The safety car basically ensured everyone went to the same M > H strategy which didn't help, and also came out after half the drivers had pit. Also the shortened DRS zone made it hard to pass. Poor race but it happens I guess.
I haven’t watched a single f1 race this year. Compared to Indy car this year f1 is so boring f1 has become boring and stale
F1 is what it’s been 90% of the time. One team hits on the car and runs away with it. Lewis/Max title fight is the exception not the norm for F1.
Coulthard: New York’s F1 ‘Eau Rouge rival’ would be “perfect” “We tried to get a race in New York several years ago at Weehawken,” said Coulthard. “I remember running in one of the Red Bull show cars. I drove part of the section of track in the F1 car and it was unbelievable. “Opposite Manhattan, there was a section that made Eau Rouge at Spa look like kids’ stuff! If they ever were able to reignite that plan right there, I think that would be the perfect place.”
Nurburgring 24 Hours this weekend was fantastic; some incredible racing throughout the whole thing. Amazing to see a non-German car win it (Ferrari 296 GTB) for the first time since 2002, when the Zakspeed Viper won it
Has the qualifying for the Indy 500 always been on a different weekend? That’s such an odd way of doing it.
Yeah, it’s been that way for a while. Indy 500 is their biggest race so they make it basically a two week event with practice/qualifying.
Just looking into some history of it, appears that qualifying has always been held on a different weekend to the race. Guessing because it's individual time trials?
I like that they do these one off liveries for Monaco, should be standard for all the teams to do it at Monaco.
Monaco was a snooze fest, per usual Hopefully this Indy race has some excitement/an unexpected winner
Also, new downtown Detroit Indycar track looks trash; super bumpy and narrow, which will leads to more caution laps than green flag laps on Sunday. Oooffff
Yeah I’m not even going this year after going for the last like 5/6 Belle Isle races. Super annoyed they moved it.
