Fantastic entry list at LeMans this year - 16 entries in the top Hypercar class. Jimmie Johnson will also be participating in an invitational entry, run by Hendricks Motorsports - a Chevy Camero ZL1 nascar, outfitted to contest the LeMans 24 Hours. Agreed; hand-held timing suggests its right on par with current GTE/GT3 cars, and knowing that LeMans is mostly made up of long straights, I could see this car being faster down the straights than the GTE cars, so I think it has potential to be very competitive.
I've been there twice. 2000 Daytona 500 and 2006 July race. Place is incredible. I'd love to go back and check out all the improvements. Those grandstands must look massive in person. Going to Pocono and Watkins Glen this year. The Glen will be my 7 year old's first race outside of IMSA at Lime Rock.
Place is so massive. Blew me away. Only track I’ve been to besides Daytona is Michigan and everything about it is so run down compared to Daytona. Going to try and go to Bristol or Martinsville next year I think
When this is apparently a surprise to even the staff of the team, it seems like it might be a risky decision lol
We just started an F1 fantasy league at my work here in Oslo, through the official F1 website; should be pretty fun
There's a clip from practice where Stroll's engineer tells him to modify his line through two corners and Stroll says he can't, because of his hands. Does that not suggest he shouldn't be in the car?
Agreed seems crazy to be there, only going to make it worse. I'm all aboard the Alonso hype train though.
AM seem to be really fecking fast. Good for F1 if they are, selfishly bad for me as they’re my least liked team. wanting McLaren to do well is torture.
Looks like they changed their sidepod design to be like Red Bull's this year, as before it was shaped like the Mercedes cars, and as of now it looks like a smart decision
Can't tell a player without a scorecard... I'm looking forward to having Hulkenberg back in F1 and to seeing De Vries in F1 full time.
Think the Red Bulls are looking pretty clear for today, but the 5 cars behind could be interesting. Particularly as Sainz, Russell and Hamilton didn't do second runs in Q3, giving them fresh softs to start on. Leclerc won't have that, unsure about Alonso.
