That was such a good race once it got going. Really thought Merc might have a shot with the way things were playing out, but that pit stop mistake and then the change to soft tyres under SC just left them wanting a bit. Perez looked incredibly quick after the SC.
Great race, I love Silverstone and having it 25 minutes from home and opposite my work is something I think I take for granted. Very happy for Carlos but that was scary for Zhou, and I hope Alex was okay too. The atmosphere whenever Lewis got past someone was CRAZY.
What a crazy drive for will power today. Started 21st, spun on lap one, dropped to dead last, finished 3rd. Still is 2nd in the championship only 20 points back
That back end looked real loose. Looked like a gust of wind took it. Those engineers gonna be working a ton tonight to get that ready for the sprint
Still not used to the sprint format. Got a notification about qualifying on my phone and had to remind myself it was still Friday
I wonder if the Merc drivers were going especially hard at it because they have a car which is at least ballpark or whether it was just a bit of bad luck with the wind.
Same way we saw Charles make quite a few quali mistakes with a Ferrari which wasn't quite good enough.
Sprint races are utterly pointless, just gives the top teams a chance to get back to the top 5 for the full race.
