I’ll admit i don’t know much about what is going on over there, but i really don’t think we should be racing there…
P2 was delayed because of an emergency meeting, all the teams are being informed by the principals about what was said. Drivers have spoken to each other and many do not want to continue this weekend. Very interested to see what happens here. EDIT: A bigger meeting after FP2 to decide how to proceed
Dunno why that edit is so funny to me “look I know you guys are terrified and don’t want to continue but we need sponsor money, so go back out there for an hour and we’ll have a real meeting after you finish”
Not sorted yet... They're still debating and the drivers appear to be divided and considering not racing. Alonso, Lewis and Seb (via video link) rumoured to be leading the debate according to twitter.
The rumour doing the rounds now is that the drivers don't want to be there, but they have basically been told it would be very difficult for them to leave if they don't race. Saudi have form for this. They kept a WWE flight on the ground for (I think) 24 hours after a pay/performance dispute. It's insane to be racing somewhere which is clearly not safe and is also an obvious target for the rebels to get the message out that Saudi Arabia are smashing their country up. F1 really made their beds when they signed a deal with this lot.
