Got to the end of DTS last night. The way they cover things is so peculiar. They left out quite a lot of details around some of the more dramatic races (nothing about Spa and very little about what happened to Merc in Brazil), but the ending at AD is just a head scratcher. They basically have Will Buxton explain exactly why it was wrong (cutting in the reactions of the drivers on track) and then just carry on as though it's no big deal. It's really strangely handled. Also, I don't know how they refrained from using the Terminator theme at the end. I don't think it would have been any more ridiculous than it already was.
Norris out in Q2. God damn it McLaren Magnussen in Q3. What a turnaround for Haas. Seems he had hydraulic issues in the latter part of Q2, hopefully they can get that sorted for him. Leclerc gets pole. Verstappen second
On friday a colleague who works on the electronics department said he would just be happy if the car didn’t catch fire… I think we may come last this year lol.
Pretty damning that Hulk outqualified Stroll too. Not like that will change anything though. Seems all the Mercedes customers are struggling massively.
God I’m so so so excited for this race tomorrow. I really hope it’s true that cars can follow better this season and we get an exciting race with some good enjoyable battles.
Yeah the engine is rubbish. They (Mercs engine team) struggled to adapt to the new fuels. The engine freeze is now in place too so they will have to bring upgrades in the form of cost saving or safety measures i believe, making it a little tougher. plus the car is generally terrible.
I kinda thought since it was first revealed that they went in the wrong direction with it but seemingly everyone loved it. Seems they did. Apparently they have another car going through wind tunnel testing at the moment? Is that even possible under the new cost cap?
I still don't understand the sport at all but I love when the cars go vroom vroom it satisfies a very base-level part of my male brain
