For those that follow/are interested in desert racing (Baja, Dakar), Audi is doing the Dakar Rally next year using an electric powered vehicle, that is charged on the go by a 4 cylinder gas engine, and regenerative brakes - a pretty insane engineering challenge Audi reveals new electric-powered Dakar challenger
The best motorsport series/championship in the world, bar none (miles ahead more interesting than F1) - World Endurance Championship
Spa 24 Hours is this weekend; pre-qualifying action from earlier today (Porsches, Ferrari's, Aston Martin's, Lambo's, McLaren's, Audi's, Mercedes', etc)
Red Bull's Hamilton penalty request rejected Sounds mad when you lay it all out. Kind of fascinated by what they said in the cover letter that nobody wants to repeat. I've read two versions of the article and one implies it was directed at the stewards and the other suggests it was aimed at Hamilton. I would guess they've claimed bias by the stewards towards the home favourite or they've claimed Hamilton knew what he was doing and dumped him off the road intentionally. Also, I don't understand why they keep clinging on to the severity of the accident. They don't ever consider the result of the collision, because it would be insane to do so. I also can't believe they would be arguing any less vociferously if the collision had resulted in a trip to the gravel with a broken axle and no major crash. Going and recreating lines with a different car, different driver and on a different day is pretty pathetic. Mercedes must be thinking this is all great news for them now that RB are showing themselves to be so combustible. Although, I bet they're also expecting to get torpedoed a few times now too.
I love Seb doing this. Hopefully he continues doing it everywhere that has anti-LGBT laws, including the US.
Russell in 2nd hahaha Oh ffs he’s out now. A puncture? That man is fucking cursed. ah no, he was told to give the places back. That’s a shame I wanted to see a Williams leading the race.
Fantastic finish to this Spa 24 Hours; pouring rain out, and the Iron Lynx Ferrari passes the leading WRT Audi with 15 minutes left on the outside of the fastest corner of the track. Crazy
Bottas should get a much bigger penalty imo but he won’t. I think he’s the worst wet weather driver on the grid, probably the worst wet driver at a top team since Felipe Massa. Amazing work from Ocon, and Alonso did brilliantly too. Unlucky for Vettel but he was superb too. Feel sorry for Max, Lando, Charles and Checo but it was great to see both George and Nick get points for Williams, what drives from the two of them!
Choked up there watching George crying after getting the points. I’m also shocked that Bottas and Stroll got off so lightly. I think they should have gotten harsher punishments. Amazing.
