Sadly, if Stoffel is available, I expect they'll sub him in. No point in having reserve drivers signed if you're just going to book Hulk as your special guest every time someone misses a race.

 

Yeah, I fully expect Stoffel to be in that seat, as much as I'd love to see Hulk in it.

Can't see that. If Merc want him for the future, giving him the proper car and letting him show what he can really do might make him rather expensive, particularly when they can't sign him up for at least another year.

Rumours they have enquired about Russell, and if not will turn to Stoffell or Hulk.

 

Seems a confusing move for Williams unless Merc offer them an obscene deal in some way. They haven't exactly got anyone who can stand in for Russell and he's the only reason anyone is paying them any attention at the moment.

 

Do Williams have another pay driver in their academy? I know of Ticktum and Aitken but I don’t think they’re Latifi rich.

 

If they get Russell, they’ll probably let them use Stoffel, and they’re probably going to pay them some cash on top of it.

 

Ticktum getting an F1 drive is such a 2020 thing, so I expect that to happen.
