It's ok I forgive you you're here now and you've come to the right person Commit This To Memory would be the best, then forward from there
Commit This To Memory is their best record and as good a place to start as any but you should circle back to I Am The Movie at some point.
Sorry for the double post but Calling All Cops is one of my least favorite MCS songs so could you explain why it's your favorite?
Yeah I think most people see Calling All Cops as the weakest on EIIKM, very weird to see it as someone's number 1.
just finished my first run through of Commit This To Memory. so, first of - "Everything Is Alright" is the only song i had heard prior to listening. i have just had that single sitting in my digital collection for years. i downloaded it when i was veeeeeeery young, and for whatever reason never listened to more (which is really weird because ive always loved that song). anyway, like i said, i was super young when i downloaded it, and the quality of that song i had was terrible, so listening to this song this time around was like listening to a whole new song. obviously that was a huge highlight. i actually read the lyrics for most of the album as i listened, some of the lines in Everything Is Alright really really hit me, especially with some stuff going on for me right now (the lyrics in the bridge / refrain or whatever). The production is beautiful on this. Is it weird that i was noticing how well panned everything is the entire time i was listening haha? ive never really noticed that so much listening to an album, but everything sounded so well distanced from eachother in my headphones - that was really neat. Justin has PIPES. some of the notes he was reaching, sheesh. also, i thought he had really interesting melodies a lot of the time. Overall, reallt enjoyable listen. really fun album. i will be honest and say this - i feel a mild sense of "its too late" for me to get really really into this as some of you are. not because it isnt great or anything. and i dont say this belittling the music at all, but i can tell that this is an album that would mean a lot to me if my younger self would have gotten really into it, but it could be hard at this point. please nobody take that as a knock on the music, i dont mean it like that. kind of hard to explain. but yeah - im definitely interested in listening to their discography now.
Haha really? I don't know, I just like every melody in the song. I think it kind of embodies the prestine-ness and catchiness of the record. What do you dislike about it?
i think every single self-conscious or insecure person should dive into CTTM at some point in life. that record is like a warm protective embrace i really like Calling All Cops, not in my top 20 but top half from EIIKM definitely
that song is so easily the worst song on that album in my opinion if you care about lyrics in music at all.
Going off the Weezer influence these guys exude, CoC reminds me of the joke silly songs Weezer would do (Undone, Hash Pipe) so it doesn't bother me since it's not really supposed to be taken too seriously. Much like Capital H from IATM
