Both albums have had the opposite effect on me overtime. I loved Go when it first came out but my love for it had dwindled over time and it’s now my least favourite MCS album. I wasn’t massive on PS when it came out but ever since we did the bracket in here I’ve come to realise it’s a hell of a lot better than I originally thought. Both have got some really great MCS songs on them, I particularly love Timelines, I Can Feel You and Days Will Run Away.
Every song from an album got paired up against another song from the same album and people voted for their favourite out the two. It got whittled down to a winner per album, which then got paired up against each other in the "winners round", with the overall winner being voted the "best" MCS song. I can't remember what won lol.
Even If It Kills Me won overall (The correct decision imo). I think the final was EIIKM vs Hold Me Down.
I think that did well but lost quite handily in the EIIKM final, but I might be wrong. There were a lot of surprises, but I can't say that was one of them for me.
Even If It Kills Me is their best song. Hold Me Down is second. I think this was the only bracket that actually ended with the correct choices.
I would agree with both parts. I remember it being the only bracket where I felt content with the choices at the end.
I was pretty happy with the outcome, I would of personally picked Hold Me Down over EIIKM though. Personally it's between HMD and Dissappear as my fav track.
My favorite tracks would probably be: 1. Last Night And then Hold Me Down, Her Words, Pulp Fiction (acoustic), Indoor Living, & Attractive Today in no particular order.
One of my favorite moments in their discog is at the end of the Indoor Living bridge when there's the break and then they jump back in with the chorus. It hits so strong
Tony in response to being asked his personal rankings of the CDs he was a part of and (for some reason) the Star Wars movies.
Rank Your Records: Motion City Soundtrack's Justin Pierre Rates the Band's Five Albums This interview always gets to me.
The thing he says about the vocal approaches of EIIKM and MDL makes a lot of sense but I think each work for their respective records
He sent out the sign up for email 6 months ago, completely forgot about this/kinda gave up, but now super excited. Loved his acoustic tour sets.
