*Ron Horward voice* He didn't. (I kind of mean it because they wouldn't be my choices, but really there are no wrong choices between those songs.)
Still missing a few voters compared to yesterday, and with how close Modern Chemistry and Cambridge are, I'm going to leave it open (even though I'd love to play tie-breaker, particularly on that song) for a little while longer. Basically until the next time I have a chance to check in and put up the next round, so vote now if you're holding off.
Alright folks, no one's voted in a while and it's the end of the CDT timezone work day (except I'm not actually done working, but it's 5), so that's that! Which also means I get to break the tie, and go to bat for one of my low key favorite MCS songs: Cambridge. Final tallies: Modern Chemistry - 9 Cambridge - 9 Indoor Living - 7 My Favorite Accident - 11 Capital H - 11 Shiver - 7 The Future Freaks Me Out - 14 Perfect Teeth - 4 Cambridge vs. Modern Chemistry is tough. They're both great songs. I don't even know why but I've always just really loved Cambridge. I think it's a perfect opener, and even though they border on nonsensical at time, I love the lyrics because they're so fun to sing. "Cover your eyes in the pouring rain, cover your eyes, everybody's all the same" I mean are you kidding me? But much respect to the Modern Chemistry voters. You guys weren't wrong! I agree with you all on My Favorite Accident. I would qualify it that Indoor Living is great too, but I'll end up saying it for every song if I keep doing that. Personally would've chosen Shiver, because for me Cambridge and Shiver are a beautiful one-two punch that should always be listened to together and are a perfect opening pair for this band's debut album. I get it though - Capital H is one of their best pure fun songs. Of course I agree with the Future Freaks Me Out. Top 5 MCS song material. And with that, we begin: ROUND 3: Semi-Finals Cambridge vs. My Favorite Accident Capital H vs. The Future Freaks Me Out It seems pretty clear to me how this will end, but brackets aren't immune to an upset, so we'll have to wait and see. Happy voting!
Cambridge The Future Freaks Me Out As excellent as Favorite is, there is such a weird charm to Cambridge that I just love. I'm sure Favorite will win this matchup and I won't be mad. My Favorite Accident is one their best live songs.
