I definitely feel that CTTM is their most summer album. It’s up there with Sticks and Stones and TOYPAJ as some of my summer essentials. EIIKM is their fall record, Go winter, MDL spring
All of their albums are for all seasons for me. But: IATM - Summer/Fall CTTM - Fall/Winter EIIKM - Fall/Winter MDL - Winter Go - Spring/Summer PS - Summer/Fall Overall, this band sounds the best in the Fall and Winter.
Ohhh ok wer're playing like this Fall>Beginning of Winter>Summer>End of Winter>Spring Spring is gross. Also, I was just joking about this but ok here we are. I guess I'm not surprised we are on ranking.fm
Gotcha, I know I saw this when it came out but it's been ten years so overdue for another. Also, having gone to shows at 7th Street Entry since then, I bet that show was fucking insane.
Just finished my Go listen (well I'm listening to the bonus tracks now - which are really great too). Floating Down the River is such a perfect song. Makes me feel so warm and fuzzy, which is nice after my heart gets torn out during Happy Anniversary.
Speaking of Commit This To Memory: **warning of sad post to follow** My father in law passed away a week ago today. It was somewhat sudden with a turn for the worse on the weekend prior, but his health has been on the way down for awhile. The day after, me and the wife were making the drive back over to her mom's house an hour away or so. We were driving in the silence of nothing on the radio for a bit, so I decided to throw on something familiar; not too poppy and not too moody. I chose CTTM. At least for me, it was a perfect choice to let sit in the background as we talked about memories and everything else. Time Turned Fragile especially hit me. I've been playing that album with her around ever since we met in 2009.
Sorry to hear about your father in law. Thoughts are with your family. That seems like a great album for that situation. Definitely a comforting album with a healthy amount of nostalgia (not just in the sense of the album coming out in 2005, but as one of the themes from the album.)
When the mood for MCS hits me, it really hits me. I just finished IATM as well. Certifiable bangers from front to back. I'll probably just finish out the discog over the next couple days at this point.
Really regret buying this earlier this year now, but it's not like I'm NOT going to pre-order this immediately, so you win this round MCS. Edit: It's missing the Worst Part though which is very weird and will seriously bother me.
