Normally we disagree but Point of Extinction is one of my favorite MCS songs. Hot take: I think Not Asking You to Leave is my #1 from them.
Listening to the entire catalog on shuffle this morning to try to get my list ranked. Man, Even If It Kills Me just demolishes the rest of their discography for me. Probably nine or ten songs from that album in my top 25 alone.
That songs is fun and fantastic. It also holds a place in my heart because it was the first song that wasn't Godsmack-like that a good friend of mine liked and it spawned a drastic change in his taste
That's cool. That's one of the three or four songs on MDL that I really don't like, but I know it has its fans.
All these rankings are making me go back and listen to all their albums again haha. Starting with EIIKM and I forgot how great this album is, easily my favorite of theirs, and maybe of all time?? Also gonna echo that @#!?@! love
im quite the legend in this toooown. songs like @#!?@! show the bands Weezer influence and they wear it so well. I love it, much like "Capital H" or "Calling All Cops" just fun, goofy songs with a darker undertone.
I just mean with the Autobots line and little references like that. I mean really all their songs have a little Blue and Pinkerton in them. Both of those are good ones too
yeah i can hear that too, mostly just because its both kinda funny that Justin wants a "gold star" for doing a good job like a child would, but also a very sobering look back at a difficult year. and i agree you wild chase Worker Bee is the bees knees
Listening to Sunny Day now and I don't give this song nearly enough credit/attention. Great capstone to MDL. It feels like an epilogue to the album. Just a fun little song after what's honestly a pretty dark album.
Haha yeah it took awhile to finally figure out some of the lyrics in that song. Particularly that one and "let's lose us some sleep and learn us somewhere to start" because I don't think that's actually correct english ha
it actually is correct english! its worded....oddly, but it is actually makes sense. i live in the south and a lot of people say stuff worded like that like "learn us x" or "learn me x" and when i took writing classes in college i wanted to discuss southern phrases with my professor and for the most part theyre grammatically sound albeit a very roundabout way of saying something. Yet my family and many friends insist on saying "Tooken" instead of "took" and "taken" :/ #EnglishWithKenneth
I think Worker Bee and History Lesson were big parts of why I didn't love that album Despite listening to it a lot that year because the good is still great
I enjoy History Lesson, but I can understand why you'd feel that way about that song. I don't understand not liking Worker Bee, but hey I'll give you a pass on this one. haha
