Oh, I meant the "notch below" CTTM. Clarity being your least favorite is still baffling considering Damage and that other one exist, but CTTM is at worst their second best record.
Co-signed by FTank. Also really like Anything at All and It's a Pleasure to Meet You. Damn, I should put this record on again. Strangely it's one that I feel the pull to listen to more than most of their others
CTTM is a classic, man. Invented, apparently. The one so lackluster that I don't even bother committing it to memory.
Well maybe I'll give it another try, I haven't actually listened to it in years. And Invented has always been top tier JEW in my mind.
I just went to listen to it and it wasn't even in my iTunes. Apparently it didn't make the transfer when I got a new computer at Thanksgiving. I quickly rectified that and am listening now.
It's just foreign to me to love this band but not that album. It's like being a Green Day fan and hating American Idiot but loving everything after. Invented is above Static Prevails for me and that's it. It's not as bad as it is lackluster. Like it genuinely feels like a record of B-sides from Chase This Light.
Hahaha, ok, you got me with that Green Day analogy. I should add that I'm not a huge MCS fan, more of an album fan, and I heard the stretch from EIIKM through Go before I ever got to CTTM. I think the idea of Invented being lackluster is fairly popular, but I've never gotten that. I also find it to have a totally different mood than CTL.
Oh lol. For some reason I thought you were a big fan of the band haha. Must be confusing you for someone else haha. That isn't too weird at all then, man, my bad haha. My old roommate usually hated this kind of music but absolutely loved Go.
PS has grown on me a ton. It's still probably my least favorite, but as others have said, "I Can Feel You" and "Days Will Run Away" are just incredible songs. The only song on that album that still doesn't do it for me is "Lose Control." Also thank you @CoffeeEyes17 for bringing up the subreddit. I can't wait to dive into the treasure trove of B-sides and such. My library is missing most of those.
Nah, I've always been fairly lukewarm on them as a whole, with some songs I love. Go is their only album I think is really excellent.
CTTM>Go=EIIKM>IATM>MDL=PS something like that. I love them all. my top 10 has at least 1 representative from each album and i think thats a good indication for me at least. Everything ive said about CTTM before i still stand by, its not quite my absolute no question favorite album of all time forever, im not even sure if i have one of those i just love what i love, but it is the album that probably has the most emotional resonance with me personally. The other 5 albums have threads of that but CTTM is the all encompassing "this album was made for ME" record
CTTM = EIIKM > IATM = MDL = GO > PS They switch a lot for me. But CTTM I think is not only their best but by far the best from that period in the genre.
Mary Without Sound Time Turned Fragile Hangman Hold Me Down Hello Helicopter Even If It Kills Me The Worst Part Pulp Fiction Timelines Days Will Run Away Something like that.
Even If it Kills Me Hold Me Down Last Night The Worst Part My Favorite Accident Broken Heart The Conversation Time Turned Fragile Attractive Today Mary Without Sound
Honestly if anyone posts a list without EIIKM or Hold Me Down I'm just blocking them. Ain't got time for nonsense.
PS overall was pretty disappointing as an album, but did have some of the best songs in their career. (I Can Feel You, Days Will Run Away, I also love Anything At All). GO was more consistent of an album, but I'm not sure if I'd put more than one or maybe two songs from that album on a list of best MCS songs
