I forgot to listen to Together We'll Ring in the New Year on New Years Day. I did at least remember to listen to Happy Holidays, You Bastard on Christmas Eve!
So this must be it, welcome to the new year… So let’s give it up for the new year "Happy New Year", someone said to me, and the whole thing came undone Take your pick!
Is Panic Stations in demand? I remember getting my copy from the Urban Outfitters sale section for $6
Josh has been pretty upfront with a lot of it and this is his last update about it: "hi buddys we love that people are finding us. the stuff we have been working on and finishing is going to be my favorite one i think heres to the future." That was a few weeks ago. They've been pretty hard at work lining up the vinyl pressings, shows and being back in the studio fixing stuff up. They all live pretty scattered across America at this point too. Jesse lives and owns a gaming store in New Jersey, I think Tony is still in LA, etc. I think we probably won't have to wait that much longer for at least a song. Maybe we'll get the VIP song too.
They're doing Summerfest in Milwaukee end of June, and Yacht Club in Minneapolis in July, and since they all live scattered, I'd assume touring between/around those dates, and I'd be very surprised if they went on tour without a new album to promote (I assume it will at least have a release date by then even if it's not out). This is just me throwing caution to the wind and getting my hopes way up
When new music does finally get announced, my head is going to explode. It’s going to be a lot of fun doing discog runs in the lead up.
Yeah, I'm super excited. It's wild how many of my favourite artists have gone a decade or more without a new album so it'll be great to have at least one of them back.
Doing a full playthrough of I Am The Movie and Even if it Kills Me. I've never actually listened to either of these albums in full. My timeline for getting into the band was making out in cars in high school to "Everything is Alright" and knowing "LGFUAD", but I was such a casual fan only knowing some singles until around Go coming out during summer after college. I got so into that album and then eventually Panic Stations as well. I went back and dove into My Dino Life and became obsessed with that album. Eventually lead me into discovering that the WHOLE Commit This to Memory album was incredible. After that, Apple Music has kept suggesting certain songs from IATM and EIIKM on my weekly workout playlists to the point where I've now decided to do it some justice and give these remaining two albums an actual playthrough. Definitely going to have high expectations for a new MCS output. (I actually really enjoy Panic Stations).
Yeah, IATM has a raw energy to it (combined with the hooks they mastered on CTTM) that I just love. "Indoor Living" is one of my favorites of theirs
