Interview with the director and writer of Didi about how he got to work with MCS to create the first song in nearly ten years. Cool stuff. https://youtube.com/shorts/C1Y7bYLocwM?si=WcH7E-GyWrSRXnux
Lyrics for whoever wants them: I've hated everyone I've ever thought I'd ever been Got lost in self reflection Sure I often got it wrong Though lately I'm afraid the damage done has oddly made me self aware and fucked up from this trip I've been on and Every time I talk it's the talking that drives you mad Every time I stop it's the silence I can't withstand My head's a bit of a ghost land I just don't want to be wrong again I tend to circle and nosedive all the time I used to sit around, dissect my thoughts until I drowned out every single sentence I could never say out loud One day I hope to make it up to everyone I punished droning on and on about whatever again Every time I talk it's the talking that drives you mad Every time I stop it's the silence I can't withstand I wanna get next to you But I never know what to say or do with my eyes and my hands and my body I just wanna get next to you I've hated everyone I've ever thought I'd ever been One day I hope to make it up to myself Every time I talk it's the talking that drives you mad Every time I stop it's the silence I can't withstand My head's a bit of a ghost land I just don't want to be wrong again I tend to circle and nosedive all the time I wanna get next to you But I never know what to say or do with my eyes and my hands and my body I just wanna get next to you But every time I talk it's the talking that drives you mad Every time I stop it's the silence I can't withstand My head's a bit of a ghost land I just don't want to be wrong again I tend to circle and nosedive all the time I've hated everyone I've ever thought I'd ever been One day I hope to make it up to myself
I do wish the “bit of a ghostland” part/melody had a different set of lyrics for the third or fourth repetition, but overall really love this song and hits the spots they’ve always managed to hit for me without feeling dated at all
Very random question but does anyone know why the song title ‘When “You’re” Around’ has the quotation marks around the word “you’re”? Feel like I’ve wondered about this the album came out way back when and never understood the context and meaning.
Put it in my veins, the new song this year was exactly what I wanted to hear from MCS and I want more!
Same. I already know I’m gonna watch that clip a hundred times hoping more intelligible bits of music magically appear
Not sure if embedding Instagram stories will work here, but they're recording in Chicago with Sean O'Keefe. Watch this story by Sean OKeefe on Instagram before it disappears.
so a repress, it's been on vinyl? i got a copy right before the pandemic , it was through src before they went shady and disappeared off the face of the earth.
It hasn’t been readily available in quite awhile. All the others have had multiple represses or deluxe editions.
i checked, it got 3 variants pressed in 2019, that's not THAT long ago. i ordered mine and when i still worked at FYE i remember we getting copies in, i felt like a fool for ordering it. i could've used that employee discount but if that's not readily available at a local mall then what is it GREG!
