Is there anything weird about that besides an unedited version being on the radio? Not like it's 2003 and the song wasn't out yet.
Not a single from the record, it's unedited, wouldn't have had radio play in '08 before say "Everything Is Alright"... Lot of "anything weird"s for someone paying attention is all. It's harmless but noticed.
I worked with a guy once who refused to see Lincoln because it was a British actor playing an American, which "wasn't accurate."
I like the hand claps and I like the song. The chorus just feels much less MCS and much more like Justin's solo stuff as I said before. The song minus the chorus is rad as heck, the chorus is just middle of the road
Really like this. Definitely feels like a halfway house between MDL and Go, which I’m into. I also echo that the chorus doesn’t fully hit for me, but think it will grow. Everything else is absolutely awesome.
In that scene in Didi - My interpretation is that “Commit This To Memory” was in the CD player of the car (or more likely a burnt CD) on repeat, and Chris turns the volume up while “when you’re around” is playing. If Chris’ sister drives that car a lot it wouldn’t be surprising for that to be in there.
Solid song. It does feel more like Justin’s solo stuff which isn’t a bad thing. Somewhere in the mid-2010s, to me it seems Justin changed his style of singing a little bit where he leaned a bit harder into his 90s slacker rock influences. It’s probably easier to sing that way compared to the first few MCS albums. He still sounds great and I’m excited for their new album whenever that comes out!
I've listened to this 4-5 times in a row now. So good. Can't wait to hear where they go on the full length but if this is any indication - I'm very happy.
If this was a single they wrote for Didi, it could very well be like "Inside Out" and not be on the next album which means there's a possibility we're getting a whole slew of completely new music on this album. That's so exciting.
yah this song is awesome, i like it a lot on first listen! I'm glad too, those new 'something corporate' songs huffed!
Very good stuff! Not my favorite MCS single or anything, but yes, they sound tighter than they have in a decade and it just makes my heart so happy to have them back.
