Put on Panic Stations for the first time in years and almost turned it right off after the "let's do this" at the beginning. Aside from that, I still like a lot about this album even if it's a clear last place in my rankings.
The chorus of "Anything At All" always reminds me of something from Commit This to Memory in a good way. The rest of the record is pretty hit or miss. It's fine, just not up to snuff with their usual output.
I will die on a hill saying Days Will Run Away is a top 5 MCS song, it was a beautiful cap to their career. Hell it not actually being the end of their career almost makes it more poignant and special.
I love Panic Stations and actually feel like it stands pretty comfortably among their other records quality wise.
I Can Feel You is by far the best on that album with Days Will Run Away behind it But Lose Control is awful and some of the stuff is just meh. So glad they aren't ending their discography on Panic Stations.
This may have been brought up, but why the hell is Panic Stations listed as a compilation on Apple Music? I’ve seen this before with other artist too.
Song is out in NZ! Very MDL, very good! Can’t believe I’m listening to a new MCS song. The bridge rocks.
My only complaint is the handclaps. Otherwise, I really enjoy it and now have even higher hopes for a new full length. @DimeStoreSaint Please let us know when you land safely
What a treat that I am listening to a new Motion City Soundtrack song in 2024. I love the verses and the bridge, but there's something about the chorus I don't love. Either way, solid return, can't wait to hear more.
Saw Didi last night, and yeah - end credits track moves. Major gripe is MCS, who RECORDED A NEW SONG for this, somehow allowed "When You're Around" to be playing, unedited, on an FM radio channel in the summer of 2008. I was jamming but that shit pulled me out haha.
