I think they made the right choice to leave them as bonus tracks. They're great songs, but they do feel a little different from the rest of the album. The Coma Kid is the only song I could entertain cutting from this album.
It’s such a drag of a song. Would not miss it at all. Wild you think it’s the best on the album. edit: one of the best*
Wild. It has such a good ending and the synth warble in it. Specifically at 1:07 is incredible. Unless that's actually guitar. Either way, it's great. I know nothing about instruments.
Ahhh! oh, sorry. I feel asleep just thinking about the song. That’s only slightly hyperbolic. I really like the album a lot. But that song is so easily removable.
I really didn’t care for Son Of a Gun for so long. Then it clicked one day and it’s one of my favorites now
It’s fine. I wouldn’t be upset if it disappeared. But, I’d be confused when there is at least one song that’s much much weaker. But not a big enough fan of the song to fight for its place though.
This band still haven’t made it over to the UK since their reformation, but I’m hopeful that we could get a show after Justin’s rehabilitation is complete. Until then, I think them sticking closer to home is fully understandable.
BOUGHT SEATS TO THE NEW YEARS EVE SHOW BECAUSE MY WIFE AND I ARE ALMOST 40 AND SITTING DOWN MIGHT NEED TO HAPPEN BUT WHOOOOOOOOO LETS FUCKING GO TOGETHER WE WILL RING IN THE NEW YEAR
This tour does not make me feel better about the future of the band. Hard to not see them just touring on the first 4 albums and just being a nostalgia act. Hopefully I’m wrong. I’ll likely hit up the Cleveland show, but I’d love for some Go songs to be played live and to get some new music at some point.
A 20th Anniversary tour doesn’t say anything about future output! It is now the norm for bands to do anniversary tours because frankly they sell better than new album tours. Thrice is still very active with new music but has done a few anniversary tours the past couple years. The other trend to expect to see is more “re-imagining” and “our versions” of albums by bands that were on major labels to bring the rights to songs back to the artists. I could see a MDL rework someday?
But Thrice hasn’t only played songs from early albums on those tours. MCS has almost exclusively only played from the first four albums. I think there was a random True Romance at one show. But that’s basically it. There hasn’t been any indication since their comeback tour in 2019 that anything new is coming. A better band to compare them to is The Starting Line. But they play from all of their releases and there have been strong hints to new music coming. And they haven’t really toured in years until this summer. I just want new music or to at least vary the set a bit when it comes to including all their albums.
