It's exciting when somebody gets into a band for the first time and gets to do a full album run through. Lots of good albums, don't forget the B-sides too! I bet Hold Me Down is one of my all time most played songs ever
Aw yeah I love a band with a good b-side/loosie catalogue lfg I'm choosing them over Ratboys, but Ratboys will come back. Expecting good things, appreciate the pointers
I'm very glad they've been in the studio for a little bit. As much as I liked parts of TSOWWW, I really feel like something better is on the way. They've been pretty active together now and doing a bunch of shows so I'd love to see what their creativity brings around now that they're together again.
I loved the album. It's my most listened to (by plays) since I started tracking at the start of 2025. Easily my favourite front to back scene release in the last few years. Keen to do a full write up when I have the energy. But it was a decade between releases and the band are approaching 50 now, doubt we'd get something any time in next few years. Never know, but I feel like wishing/waiting for the next release from them is a bit premature.
I mean, why would they post a picture of Josh and Justin in the studio with the tag @motioncitysoundtrack? It could be a song, two songs, an EP, I didn't say it had to be an album. I'm not waiting with bated breath and I think it's perfectly fine to wish for new music. If we don't get it? Bummer, but that happens all the time.
Also this is a side note as I know everyone is different and has different preferences and lifestyles when it comes to music, touring, recording and having another job, kids, a family, friends and such but I don't think necessarily saying "they're reaching 50" means anything without context because a ton of musicians do music regularly at that age and older.
Been on a big even if it kills me tear, what a banger of a record. I remember not loving The Worst Part when it came out, but that song is probably a top 5-10 of theirs for me now.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Not Asking You To Leave is one of their best songs and it should have been on the album.
I guess I kind of forgot that Not asking you to leave and the worst part were b sides, cause whatever iTunes edition or download I’ve had since it came out has has those two on it
Excited for Tuesday. Low stakes vibes, just gonna chill on the side and see if these guys have the juice live, then gonna dive into the back catalogue on Wednesday. They'll probably play a chunk of TSOWWW anyway, very good album.
Very good. Setlist was a bit heavy on the nee album honestly, but I get it. They were fucking EXCELLENT at Slam Dunk today though. Basically all the hits and just smashed through the set. Had everyone dancing. Crowd was into the new stuff they did play too.
You know where the fuck I am. 26 months sober and at the Motion City gig. Still only listened to the new one and ready to be impressed. Gonna pop off if they play Things Like This, that song is unexpectedly relevant this week.
