Been revisiting the album a lot this week, and it hits a lot harder in the best way this week. Not sure why the album as a whole wasn't hitting me right away the week of release, besides the singles, but I'm loving the shit out of it now.
Oh yeah, a major fan, one of my favorite bands. Maybe it's cuz I was so busy the first few days it was out that I didn't give it the attention it deserved. Whatever, loving it now.
I'm also a massive fan and it hasn't hit me that much outside of select songs. Different strokes for different folks and all that. Definitely growing more on me though, who knows how I'll feel six months from now.
Would you all know what I meant if I said the chorus of Your Days Are Numbered sounds like the album cover?
Mmmmm, no? Kind of? I still think the song is darker than the album cover. I think the cover is probably closer to the title track very fittingly.
It's just that for me YDAN really conveys the kind of slow swirling (like the little animation they have on streaming services for the cover.) It just sounds a little dreamy and maybe disorienting which fits with the swirling lol idk I digress
The three song run of You Know Who The Fuck We Are, Melancholia, and Your Days Are Numbered is my favorite part of this record aside from the title track. I do sadly skip about half of this record though whenever I listen.
I also skip quite a few songs. This album is fine. The songs that are great are GREAT but the other ones are very middling to me. I am very excited to see what they do next because this just feels like them shaking the cobwebs off.
My hot take is I'm not as wild on the title track as most of you. I love it, but it's not in my top 5 from this record.
While I admittedly don't listen to huge amounts of new music, this is easily my favourite album of 2025 and took me by complete surprise as I wasn't particularly anticipating its release.
Love the album outside of Mi Corazon (minority opinion, I know) and Bloodline. Surprised by how cool some of are you on it, as it’s a pretty big return to form after Panic Stations.
Corazon is my least enjoyed but I don't skip it every time. Certainly listenable. I'm surprised too. To me this is significantly more memorable than many of the big name releases that have come out over the past couple of years.
Yeah I’d say these are my least favorites on the album, but they’re still good songs. Don’t come around to them as much as I do others
I still have not listened to this in full. There has been so much music that has came out recently of bands I love that I have not been able to put the time in to listen either at all, or much more than once. I've been putting my time into podcasts, older music that came out this year(or old favorites), or just...... silence.
Things Like This is a clear standout to me that I don’t see mentioned as much as some other tracks. It’s classic MCS through-and-through.
