Glad to hear the band again but I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish the song had a little more energy for a return single. Excited for the album.
Kinda reminds me of Panic Stations but I wasn’t much a fan of that album, and I like this quite a bit
My expectations are pretty low given that I don’t think this band will ever reach the peak of the first three records anyways. I am pretty excited to hear that Mat Kerekes feature though!
I like the chorus melodies quite a lot. But I agree with the general calls for a little more energy. Feels a little mid paced, particularly in the verses. But I’m happy with it as a first comeback single, let’s see where they go from there.
As for this song, everyone says they're hearing Weezer which I don't disagree with, but I hear SO much of Justin's solo stuff on here. It's a good mix of their own style and his own flare. He's always been into this style of music so it's kind of cool we're getting a MCS version of it. Was hoping it was closer to Stop Talking not gonna lie. But I'm excited to see what the boys have cooking for us. New MCS era is here.
Love the single. The comments in this thread had me nervous, but the tempo is fine - similar to This is for Real. I don't feel that it's lacking anything except the other 10 songs I want to hear...
